The talk in regards to consoles in the past few weeks is all about Playstation releasing the 4.5. Not a whole lot is known about it, but most of us expected a rebuttal of some sort from Microsoft. Unfortunately, those rumors/possibilities were ultimately squashed by Xbox head Phil Spencer.
When asked about a potential Xbox 1.5 update, Spencer answered, “I’m not a big fan of Xbox One and a half. If we’re going to move forward, I want to move forward in big numbers,” Spencer clarified that he doesn’t have any inside knowledge about PlayStation’s plans or the rumors currently circulating, but he added, “For us, our box is doing well. It performs, it’s reliable, the servers are doing well. If we’re going to go forward with anything, like I said, I want it to be a really substantial change for people–an upgrade.”
Spencer also went on to say that he isn’t a fan of allowing users to upgrade their units with individual parts. This is a rumor in regards to the future console generations sporting a computer like build. Clearly Spencer wants to keep the Xbox a separate entity.
Multiple reports have stated that the Playstation 4.5 is in fact real, and will be revealed at E3 this year. What do you guys think of this? Smart move by Microsoft? Let us know!
