Nintendo’s upcoming console experience, the NX has been kept under wraps for quite a while. The company has been relatively hush hush in regards to the build, design and what is to be expected. So, when anything is released regarding the Nintendo NX, it’s easy to jump on it with some excitement.
Insider sources are indicating that the upcoming console, slated for a late 2016 release, will outperform console juggernauts, Xbox One and Playstation 4.
Now, while this is completely possible (both consoles are technically outdated anyways), the thought of Nintendo leading the console war in terms of benchmark statistics is a tad hard to believe.
Takashi Mochizuki of the Wall Street Journal has been reporting the NX for sometime. He had this to say regarding the console’s performance:
–Several people who said who have seen a demo said what they saw is impossible to run on a computer without a “industry-leading” or “cutting-edge” chips. Cutting-edge in what way, they refused to elaborate.
-And an important thing to remember, probably you know well already, is that chip specs won’t be finalized until much closer date to the release.
hope this helps, and plz ask me follow-up questions if you have.
Takashi’s e-mail was not very specific on what is considered “industry-leading”. At first, some thought this was in reference to the most advanced GPU on the market for PC’s. Fortunately for us, he went on to elaborate on a separate tweet.
Industry-leading” chip = more powerful than PS or Xbox? My answer is don’t know. But that’s how sources described: https://t.co/Kp6NpGSNrn

Nintendo has played the console market for quite a while but never has it been seen as a benchmark giant. Its console iterations have focused on game play mechanics that alter the way you play, some see this as a gimmick but nevertheless a successful one(Nintendo has never had a problem selling consoles). If the Nintendo NX is more powerful than the Xbox One and PS4, this will be quite a market shake up!
Is this power play by Nintendo a mark of desperation? What do you think of Nintendo having a benchmark console? Would you buy it? Let us know in the comments below!
