3 big movies have made their way onto movie piracy sites: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Quentin Tarantino’s Hateful Eight, and Leonardo DiCpario’s The Revenant.
All three films have been found on multiple piracy sites such as Torrent Freak, Putlocker, Solar Movie, and WatchOnline, with more and more copies popping up on a slew of other sites.
A piracy group known as Hive-CM8 has taken credit for these attacks. After releasing Hateful Eight onto the internet, the group had this to say, “DVDScreener 1 of 40. Will do them all one after each other, started with the hottest title of this year, the rest will follow.”
Disney will without a doubt use as much manpower needed to take all copies of The Force Awakens off the internet (if they haven’t done so already). Even with the film breaking tons of box office records, Disney is not the kind of company to just sit back and take such a hit.
The other two films, Hateful Eight and The Revenant, were slated for Christmas Day release dates, so these leaks will no doubt cause a pretty big dent in their ticket sales.
Tarantino’s Hateful Eight already suffered an equally massive leak back in 2014 when the script for the film found its way online. That alone was enough for Tarantino to contemplate cancelling the film altogether, so who knows what the man will do this time around. With a leaked script, a feud with Disney’s The Force Awakens, and now a leaked film, the man must be at a breaking point.
As previously mentioned, copies of the films can be found online, but I would suggest avoiding those sites as it is possible that some copies will come riddled with computer-bricking viruses.
Also it’s wrong and mean.
