Jennifer Lawrence just “spilled the beans” during an interview with The New York Times that she and Amy Schumer will be working together on a comedy screenplay.
The aforementioned bean spilling occurred today during a promotional tour for Jennifer Lawrence’s latest movie The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II. Kim Schumer (Trainwreck co-writer and sister of Amy Schumer) will be working alongside the duo to write this screenplay in which Jennifer Lawrence & Amy Schumer play the leading roles as sisters.
The screenplay is currently on its 100th page according to Jennifer Lawrence, so there isn’t much information on the project yet.
Along with informing the NY Times journalist about the project, Jennifer Lawrence also added:
Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavors. It’s been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up. I’m flying out tomorrow to see her in Chicago. We’ll write a little bit with her sister, Kim, who worked with Amy when she was writing Trainwreck.
This comedy duo got its start after Lawrence saw Amy Schumer’s romance comedy Trainwreck and promptly emailed Schumer professing her love for her.
If the movie turns out to be a success, then the already popular female power duo, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, will have to either step up their game or join the rising duo and become an all-powerful comedy quad.
