Good news for those hoping to see a continuation of the Star Wars: Battlefront series! Frontwire, the developer of the fan made game (which is using old code made from the cancelled Battlefront 3 game almost a decade ago) has stated on their live stream that the game has been approved for Steam. This is relatively huge for the game, as the developers were worried that the approval would be impossible since the game is using the Star Wars license. However, the game will not be monetized and will be completely free for download on the PC platform.

Galaxy in Turmoil, the title of the Battlefront 3 game has not been slated for a release date. All we can assume is that it will be relatively soon, especially with Steam agreeing to release it on their platform stream. Clearly, according to the game’s developer, this has been a huge worry,

“I’ll be honest–I’ve had mild concerns myself from time to time,” Romanelli explained. “However, Valve clearly lacks that same concern. By agreeing to publish Galaxy in Turmoil, Valve is assisting us in growing and ensuring the longevity of the Galaxy in Turmoil project and community as a whole.”

Battlefront 3, despite having some finished code, was never confirmed to be in development by Electronic Arts. Of course, the company that is now making money off their own branding of the game, more than likely won’t be too happy with the success of this game. The game, which will go back to the series’ strengths, will feature a campaign mode, space to ground combat, multiple heroes and multiple eras.

Of course, stay tuned for more information regarding this upcoming title as it develops.
