News about DC’s latest projects will also cause a very polarizing reaction from readers and fans alike. Though critiques have been very hard on just about every recent DC film, with Man of Steel holding the highest Rotten Tomatoes critique rating of 55%, average viewers have been pretty much split in half.
The latest entry into DC’s future release now includes an all female film adaptation of the DC comic series Gotham City Sirens.
What and Who are the Gotham City Sirens?
The comic features 3 of DC’s most well-known female villains, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy, and the film adaptation will focus on them, with Harley Quinn having more of a focus of course.
Margot Robbie has already been cast to reprise her role of Harley Quinn. Catwoman and Poison Ivy have yet to be chosen, but give the internet a couple of days to start waging war on who they think should play the respective roles.
Who’s Working on the Project?
David Ayer, director of Suicide Squad, is also set to return as director with Geoff Johns co-producing it with Ayer. Joining the DC film team as writer will be Geneva Robertson-Dwore, writer for the up incoming Tomb Raider film.
The project has not been given a release date, but given DC’s track record it can either come out in 2 years…or 7 years.
