Could it be the fourth installment to the Dark Knight series we’ve all been waiting for?

No, of course not. Stop lying to yourself. Three is enough, and that’s all he wanted to make.

Whenever Nolan gets his hands on a new project, he makes absolutely sure that the public knows as very little as possible, and it seems that he will be continuing this trend of his for his latest mystery project. All that has been revealed is the following post from Box Office Mojo:

Nolan Film

Woah woah! Easy there, Box Office Mojo. Don’t go spoiling the whole thing for us.

As you can see above, the only things that are known about the film is that it will be distributed by Fox, its genre is animation (which is as vague as saying, “It’s a movie.”), and that it will be released on the 21st of July 2017.

This date puts the film very early in the summer movie season which means that this Nolan film will most likely set out to be 2017’s early big summer hit, much like his Dark Knight series of films which all share similar release dates with this mystery film.

About 2 months ago, Will McCrabb posted a tweet (below) telling the world that Christopher Nolan had finished writing a “comprehensive draft” for his next film. which is without a doubt the box office listing above. Again, not much else was told about the film, other than a draft has been completed and McCrabb knows.

Although it is a little irritating not knowing what is to come from the great mind of Christopher Nolan, it does make his movies that much more amazing. I went into Interstellar and The Prestige without knowing a lick of info and my mind was putty by the time the films ended.

Christopher Nolan will be working on this new mystery project of his with his wife, Emma Thomas, (producer of basically every Nolan film), and will assist her in the production of the film through their jointly owned production company, Syncopy Films. Along with co-producing, Nolan will also take the role of director as he usually does, and will definitely not be another Batman film. I know you’re still thinking it will be. Stop it.

The unknown film (got tired of saying “mystery film”) will be released on July 21, 2017 as previously mentioned and will be sharing its release quarter with Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, War of the Planet of the Apes, Pitch Perfect 3 (why another?), and the 3rd motherf*****g rebooted Spider-Man movie.
