The Mockingbird is leaving the coop. At least she might if Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff Marvel’s Most Wanted is picked up to series by ABC.
The spinoff would see Adrienne Palicki’s Bobbi Morse aka Mockingbird separate from her Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. team mates along with her character’s former fiancé Lance Hunter (Nick Blood). What would they be doing exactly? Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. showrunner Jed Whedon has reportedly said that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s current season has been dropping hints as to what that could be.
This season has seen Hunter separate from the team to work both undercover and spec ops missions against Hydra cells. Mockingbird has also been shown on missions using some pretty badass augmented staves to kick Inhuman butt.
How these arcs will take them both away together is purely speculation at this point. Though Whedon also hints that it may move the Inhuman storyline (people with powers) further.
Mockingbird is the second most badass team member on the show thanks to her kickass choreography, and Hunter usually serves as a comic foil outside of missions. If Marvel’s Most Wanted is picked up, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will lose two really strong secondary characters on a show that still employs Brett Dalton in a leading role.
At least Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. can still build on their current Inhuman’s storyline with the likelihood that they are currently building Daisy Johnson’s on-screen Secret Warriors team.
